LEGO® Serious Play®

LEGO® Serious Play (LSP) is a powerful and creative method that makes complex issues visible, discussable, and solvable by literally building your story. In this workshop, you'll experience how LEGO is used as a thinking tool in a business context, from strategy sessions to team development and innovation.

Why does LEGO® Serious Play really work?

While traditional meetings and brainstorming sessions are often dominated by the fastest thinkers or loudest voices, LEGO® Serious Play ensures everyone has equal say. Introverted participants are given the space to think first and then share their ideas through their constructions. This not only leads to a richer conversation but also to greater mutual understanding. By building instead of just talking, you activate different parts of the brain – leading to surprising insights, better collaboration, and lasting impact.

Result after the workshop:

Using the LSP methodology to gain insights from teams or stakeholders.
Facilitating equal conversations in which introverted voices are also heard.
Transform complex ideas into clear, visual models that accelerate conversation.
Unleashing energy and creativity in sessions that would otherwise be mostly talkative.
Linking LSP to concrete themes such as team vision, strategy, collaboration and lessons learned

A unique workshop for your team

A workshop of your desired duration, where we will explore the issues that fit your organization or team.

Whether it's getting to know each other better, exploring culture, setting ambitions for the coming year, or exploring collaboration—you name it! Nothing is too crazy to explore with the LEGO Serious Play Method.

For leaders and teams who want to explore solutions, with input from each individual. For those who want a session where everyone actively participates, and no one can hide behind their screens afterward. For teams seeking connection, and who, in addition to exploring serious issues, simply want to have fun working together.

After workshops, I often receive explicit feedback from the more introverted members of the team, expressing gratitude: "Thanks for giving me space." Because everyone first reflects on the question and develops the answer individually, the extroverts don't immediately determine the solution.

And something magical happens when people start sharing the stories behind their models: people listen. They let each other talk. They're curious about the stories.

The LSP method consists of four steps:

  1. Pop the question – The facilitator asks a targeted, pre-agreed question.
  2. Build the answer – Participants reflect in silence and build a model with LEGO as an answer. With nice background music, if desired.
  3. Story, tell, explain – Everyone explains their model in a personal story. Metaphors are explained. Everyone wants to hear the stories behind the LEGO and listens naturally.
  4. Listen, recap & elovate – Active listening takes place, and summarizing may be done by others. Every participant receives equal speaking time, ensuring 100% participation and genuine engagement. LEGO creates flow, visual anchoring, and a sense of team spirit – with lasting effect. Group models can be created in which all individual views come together. Super powerful!
